| Milestone. Late C18 with early C19 alterations. Red sandstone with cast-iron plates. Triangular section on square base. Attached segmental-headed cast-iron plates with superscribed serif lettering: "TO/CHESTER/32/MILES" (left-hand side) and "TO/NEWPORT/8 MILES" (right-hand side). Plate on base obscured. The cast plates are probably early C19 additions as earlier inscriptions are just visible in the stone behind them. No. 5, Sweet Appletree is not included on this list<1> | ||
