Monument Description
Milepost. Mid-Cl9. Cast iron. Triangular section with chamfered top. Superscribed sans-serif lettering: "WINNINGTON" (top), "ECCLESHALL 10 / STAFFORD 17" (left-hand side) and "KNIGHTON 3/4 / PIPEGATE 11/2 / WOORE 21/4 / NANTWICH 101/4" (right-hand side). The milepost stands on Bearstone Bridge (qv) spanning the River Tern, which at this point forms the boundary between Shropshire and Staffordshire (Loggerheads). Bearstone Mill is not included on this list<1>
