You will also find the homepages of a number of local history societies such as Newport History Society and the Four Parishes Heritage Group.
From here you can also access the Tudor and Stuart Shrewsbury reconstruction map, which gives an extraordinarily detailed view of Shrewsbury circa 1630, as well as a host of additional information about the Tudor and Stuart periods. A similar map of Much Wenlock c1485 introduces the medieval town and its priory in a manner not attempted before.

Shropshire Regimental Museum The Regimental Museum was established in 1985 and is housed in the mediaeval border fortress of Shrewsbury Castle. Its displays tell the story of the County's military units from 1755 to c.1970.
