Getting to Shropshire Archives
By bus:
the Shropshire Archives building is opposite stand S at the bus station. Follow the steps around the building to the public entrance.
By train:
the railway station is only a few minutes walk away. Simply walk up the hill (Castle Gates) towards the town centre and look out for the archway on your right, next to the Reference Library. Go through the archway and you will see the entrance to Shropshire Archives.
By car:
we recommend use of the Park and Ride services from Harlescott, Meole Brace and Oxon. The buses stop close by (in front of railway station). The nearest car parks are at Raven Meadows and in Howard Street (the railway station car park). For an overview of the streets around Shropshire Archives follow the link on this page to ShropMap - an interactive map of Shropshire. To find the relevant map, do an address search for our postcode 'SY1 2AQ'. We are listed under our previous name of Shropshire Records and Research Centre.
If you are disabled:
we have two parking spaces for disabled users outside our public entrance in Castle Gates. If you would like to reserve a place, please ring Shropshire Council's Customer Service Centre on 01743 255350.
