B) Working conditions at the Llanymynech limeworks in the C19th
This sheet describes some of the more common jobs and gives examples of accidents and physical dangers and discomforts that were prevalent. It concludes by describing the work of Friendly Societies which supported injured workers and their families in return for regular subscriptions
C) Inspectors report
This relates to the last part of the History based guided tour but could equally act as a stand alone activity. It invites you to look at the causes of illnesses and injuries and suggest improvements as well as to put yourself in a workers boots and respond to the Inspector’s questions
